What is the Brain Waves curriculum?

Posted on | Kids R Kids

At Kids R Kids North Cobb, we offer our exclusive Brain Waves™ curriculum. During your child’s formative years, every part of her brain should be stimulated to better prepare her for the future. The Brain Waves™ curriculum focuses on creating neural pathways for the key developmental areas: language, social-emotional, cognitive and physical.

How will this help my child's educational development?

The Brain Waves™ curriculum targets four areas of the brain: the frontal lobe, the temporal lobe, the parietal lobe, and the occipital lobe. Together these lobes make-up the cerebral cortex, but each has its own function and should be stimulating accordingly.

Our “Hug First, Then Teach” philosophy ensures your child feels secure and at ease to aid the learning and brain development process. Since every child is unique, our teaching staff caters to different interests as well as learning styles and allows your child to learn at her own pace. Our classrooms are filled with stimulating materials that use all five senses and allow teachers to facilitate your child’s exploration. We also expose your child to different languages, including sign language for infants, to support neural connections and develop a strong base for future language skills.

Problem solving skills are critical to brain development so each teaching station has activities to help your child explore cause and effect and to learn questioning strategies that promote higher level thinking. We take a balanced approach to technology meaning that we employ technology tools but also provide down time to avoid overstimulation and reinforce neural pathways through rest.

Our priority is to maximize your child’s brain development through stimulating learning experiences and fun, teacher directed activities.
